Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is an enhanced port of the Nintendo DS game that debuted to critical acclaim earlier in the year. The plot is much more tongue-in-cheek than in the relatively dark Grand Theft Auto IV.
You play Huang Lee, the son of murdered crime-lord looking to avenge the death of his father. Unfortunately, Huang’s arrival sees him embroiled in a war between all those itching to step into the shoes of the deceased bossman.
It’ll take you about 8 hours to see the entirety of Huang’s story, an 8 hours you’ll be fully engrossed in. There are mini-games and a complete drug-dealing strategy side game to return to once you’ve finished the main plot; with multiplayer and timed missions fleshing out the experience.

Can you even imagine what it must have been like to be an early explorer? Like, you leave Spain or Portugal on some rickety boat, and arrive in the New World. Cool and all, but, outside of shooting everything in sight, how do you communicate with anybody? What, do you point to the sun and say “sol,” and expect the other guy to repeat “sol”? That can’t be an efficient way to learn a language, especially when it’s, you know, a very real clash of cultures. If only they had (drum roll, please) something like Jibbigo Speech Translator English Spanish, which automatically translates from Spanish into English, and vice-versa.

Sharing content of your website is not as simple as ts is on Twitter. Part of Twitter’s advantage is just how easy it is to share from blogs and other websites. A lot of this has to do with the Tweetmeme buttons, which are those Twitter buttons you see on my blog and elsewhere that count up how many retweets a webpage experiences. Facebook’s never really had an equivalent. Until now.
Quietly the world’s largest social network has been working on a new version of Facebook Share, one that includes buttons that can count the amount of shares a specific article gets across Facebook’s vast platform. Today, they launch officially though you’ve probably already seen them being tested on a few websites, during the last week or so.

Finally, Yahoo! GeoCities, a web hosting service founded by David Bohnett and John Rezner in late 1994 and later acquired by Yahoo! in 1999, will be closing down on Oct. 26. The 15-year-old service, which offers surfers a space to set up their own, personalized homepage, was once a very popular platform before the launch of Google’s Blogger and open source content management platform Wordpress.
GeoCities began in 1994 as BHI, which stood for Beverly Hills Internet, a small Web hosting and development company in Southern California. In mid-1995, the company decided to offer users (thereafter known as “Homesteaders”) the ability to develop free home pages within those neighborhoods. Chat, bulletin boards, and other elements of “community” were added soon after, helping foster rapid growth. Many people flock to GeoCities to host their homepages for free as during the late ’90s, hosting options cost a bomb.

Google is notoriously slow and calculating about changing it the user interface of its services. In fact, Google hasn’t made any major changes to the look and feel of Google Maps since its launch in 2005. On Friday, the company launched several refinements to Maps–the biggest changes to its look since launch. While you might not notice these changes immediately–unless you are a hardcore Google Maps user–they are designed to enhance the readability of the maps.
